As far as I know, ATIs error-diffusion dithering alternates the dithering patern from frame to frame, so screeshots don't show the actual image quality that you usually experience on the screen. Here are some comparison shots Re: ATI Rage 128 Pro - Better than expected!

NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition does not work with my V2200 8MB PCI card. Not in Windows 98SE, nor in DOS. I use the latest Hercules driver version 0.85. Well, I don't know what's the oldest version that works, but I can confirm version 7.76 was working with my GF3 Ti200 after the file "NVAGP.INF" modification.

Why not just disable the CPU cache in BIOS or by software tools for DOS. I also have this sound problem with the Audician 32 Plus on my K6-III+ rig, but with "Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle". Just need to lower the CPU speed by disabling cache or lower the FSB, multiplier.

What CPU are you using? Try to lower your CPU speed. Some games are more CPU speed sensitive on some sound cards.
