I don't know if real or not, but with any even really powerful systems I always felt dosbox having that latency/lags that even a real 386 has not. Maybe is suggestion I don't know but perfect timing just like in console emulators it's difficult to emulate.

It's incredible how the C64 video chipset was advanced at those days. Nowdays someone still programs demos that push its hardware to limits that none could imagine.

Well I always thought that conversion was more a "box feature" than really something to benefit. Back then it really was an issue... PCI only has about 120 MB/s bandwidth at most.
