Originally posted by kukus444 Ok then i understand, it is played from the CD-ROM Assuming you are running this on XP with VDMSound and are using the GUI launcher...what settings are you using for CD-ROM access? Did you enable low-level CD-ROM support (MSCDEX)? If not, are you using SAPUCDEX as a …

Re: Old, old, system

*bah* Send it to me, should be in the hands of one who knows it's true capacity. First home computer with 256 colors, 4 channel audio, hardware-based player/missile graphics (before they were called sprites) and 4 controller ports (unfortunately, Tramiel ripped the last two off of the XL/XE models). …

If "yes" applies to all of the above, the GUI Launchpad will cause the game to lock due to Raptor having an apparent issue with fixPOPF. The are two workarounds. One is to use the "Run with VDMS" option that does not have …

Re: Promise RAID hell!

Originally posted by Snover All my data. Everything except for the meager 30-disc backup I made. All because of the controller. There was never anything physically wrong with the drive as far as I can tell now. I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm better off, but I'm in a similar position, it …

Re: Update 1 install instructions

NOTE: To use VDMSound at it's fullest, this is the recommended install procedure: Install Vlad's VDMSound program. VDMSound v2.04 at http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~vromas/vd...load/index.html After installation is completed, copy the files from the 2.04 Update zipfile at http://vdmsound.sourceforge.net/ …

Re: Hmm, problems with Strike Squad

You have a knack for picking the hard ones. I can't get Tegel's Mercenaries running without switching off digital audio. I'm getting the same message as you for the fail (GPF), but I'm suspecting it may actually be a corrupted archive. DosBox is no good for either of these (actually, it will run …
