I guess I am. 😈 The whole FX line is just... bad in my opinion. Their single-thread (or lets say less than 4 threads) performance is very poor, power consumption high. Even the old Nehalem i7 will outperform FX in most tasks. Lets hope Zen will be better.

CPU is the bottleneck here, not OS. You need SSE2-equipped CPU for decent web browsing... so at least Athlon64 or 2.6 (+) GHz P4.

I fail to see from your argument why a mere Geforce-2MX is overkill for a K6-III+. And again, NV40 is AGP native and it supports AGP 2X. What is the point in using so fast VGA on socket 7 platform? K6-III+ can't fully utilize Voodoo3... let alone GF6800.
