Re: Windows OPL3 Synthesizer

Outstanding piece of software. Thank you so much for this synth. Only the midi volume control is grayed out from "Sounds and Audio Devices", and the midi volume slider from the mixer, even though functional (as in clickable-movable), has no effect whatsoever. Just posting as the readme doesn't …

Re: Guess the game!!

in Milliways
Too many clues on the last shot, way too many. It should be relatively easy for anybody, even someone who's never seen or played that game, to show up with the correct answer after googling for a combination of words relating to both classic video games and Bible content, and that assuming it hasn't …

Re: Have you ever personally cracked a CRT?

I've heard breaking a CRT is quite memorable You heard wrong. In reality it's pretty boring. considering what a powerful vacuum exists within You want something powerful?, stick your tongue in the second anode (actually, please don't) I had a physics teacher once who reminisced about the experience …

Re: Best Doom ports for dos

in DOS
For a 486, you'd do well to go with a patched up version of vanilla Doom with expanded limits and greater stability: Doom+ You know, I thought about this, and the thing is that any scene that could benefit from such a patch, because it exceeds the original limits, will probably be way too slow for …

Re: My First MEGA Copyright Notice

Opera 12.x is/was great (and it's a shame Presto was replaced with WebKit/Blink/Chromium); just to point out though: they have released a more recent update, 12.19, to address Heartbleed. That's probably the last update that 12.x will ever receive though. You can get it here: http://www.opera.com/ …

Re: vinyl making a comeback?

in Milliways
I've seen people cutting CD quality audio on vinyl, which defeats the very purpose of using vinyl, unless we're talking this moronic DJ thing. Personally, all the music I'd ever want to listen to is already on vinyl and it's been so for decades now. Maybe just a fad, maybe not.

If people had even the slightest idea about the kind of spying that goes on behind the curtains while running a mainstream browser and all the bandwidth wasted in establishing unsolicited connections to "familiar", "inoffensive", "statistics-gathering" servers such as google's...it's grotesque. Get …
