and if youre lucky, you will enjoy incombatiblities with many older drivers 😀 Maybe there is another catch, if you have no PAE aware Applications, just use the Memory over 3,25Gb as Ramdisk and place your Pagefile on it. So you can use it with "some overhead"

i get an average Framerate of 10 fps on a Dual Coppermine 1Ghz, 2Gb Ram PC133, VIA Chipset, GeForce 6800GT 128Mb DDR1 (Leaktek). Maybe it crashes currently sometimes, Power Supply turns off.

Whats the absolut minimum for running crysis benchmark ? A PIII 450Mhz with Radeon 95xx series card and 512Mb ?

microdrives are not suitable for long run times.. like playing long game sessions. especially the IBM/Hitachi ones < 1Gb. They were build for short data bursts like digital camera. The Bigger Seagate Drives have better mechanics (4Gb,6Gb+) i use 2x 1Gb CF-Cards in my DX4 100Mhz, without any issue. …

A 2001 Athlon has no SSE at all. Argon/Pluto/Orion and Thunderbird are SSEless.

You could try the Intel PnP Manager Software, this one should work with Soundblaster too and requieres no 386 CPU.

I assume you have tested everything in your spare Mainboard. So it looks like your Mainboard is busted. So next step would be to hook up a logic analyzer... Did you measure the Resistance of 5V to GND and 12V to GND ? On the Mainboard ? Could be that some Capacitor failed. https://en.wikipedia.org/ …
