Re: DOSBox in WinXP with Constructor

I have to say I'm not sure what you're telling him to do. If what MrGodman exactly wrote is true, the reason it won't work is: mount d i: \ - t cdrom There's no space allowed between i: and \ Also, some games simply don't work when mounted like that or mounted at all. What I do with CD games, is …

Re: Screamer 2

I can run it perfectly - just make a CD image of the game and mount that. Also make sure to mount the CD as your D drive. The problem I have is that the game's setup won't work in DOSBOX. It gives a black screen.

Re: Setting CD-ROM drive with config.sys

in DOS
Oooh, I see. That's so cool...So I would just need to execute the .exe file, right? And, do you know (for curiosity) why install isn't necessary? By the way, I just read that another way of installing some programs is through Autoexec.bat. Could you tell me briefly how that needs to be done in …

Re: Cyberia 2 - Resurrection

Why are you running it at only 10000? Wing Commander 3 needed very powerful computer to run well - a 486 DX2 66 or even a Pentium. 10 000 cycles, i feel, will be much too slow and your CPU can handle MUCH more. Try 40 000 cycles in dynamic mode. Also, movies played just fine for me - this may be …

Re: Setting CD-ROM drive with config.sys

in DOS
Hi mates. I have Linux , and have downloaded Free DOS , in order to install it in other partition. But before doing so, since I remember practically nothing from when I was a little brat and used DRDOS, I want to ask something: I have read that the way of making FreeDOS detect a CD drive is through …

Re: Could high CPU 'cycles' burn my CPU?

Indeed - you should always stress test your CPU when you buy or build a new computer. In some (rare) cases, the cooling is not enough and may damage or shut down your system - in other (less rare) cases, after time, cooling starts to deteriorate - dust in the fans, bad airflow in the case because of …
