Well, if you use a straight though extension cable, it is going to end up being the same exact pinout as it would normally be so it should just work. In other words.. just hook up a straight through cable to either end of the stock cable and you will be fine.

The Dell G series only has single channel RAM.. bleh. The Alienware 15 meets all your requirements as far as I can tell EXCEPT for the optical drive. I am pretty sure that almost no new laptops come with an optical drive. You can always use an external drive though. Battery life will probably suck …

Did you try the 66w95drv.zip driver? Do you have a different computer with an ISA slot that you can test with? And yeah, using it in a non-PnP system may be a problem.

Looks to me like you are doing the menu completely wrong. You don't need IF statements. Put all commands in the code blocks for the different options. Back in the day I had huge menus in Config.sys and Autoexec.bat and I never used IF statements. See here for an example: https://www.dostips.com/ …

Make sure JP18 is jumpered 1-2. 2-3 is for Weitek Power 9000 only. Also take a look at JP1 and JP2 foir the VLB speed and wait state settings.
