Well, what are they showing? Is it consistent? Stuck sensors were a thing, but both cores and main package at once? Not very probable.

otherwise, go for any Socket 370 MB with an ISA slot and pair it with Coppermine P3 (Tualatin would be just as rare as K6-III+). It's really only about DBLBUFF.SYS. IFSHLP.SYS is loaded high anyways. I believe DoubleBuffer=0 in MSDOS.SYS is another way to prevent DBLBUFF.SYS from loading. There is very little reason to use DOS=NOAUTO. Unless you have this weird piece of software (most likely some 'demo') that absolutely cannot stand HIMEM.SYS. You'll just end up having to load stuff HIGH manually, as you discovered. Do you really need that many buffers? You can also use CTMOUSE, …
