Exactly. Fast then fizzes out then slow on lots of small files. Best on large files. Doesn't make sense. Larger files are faster than smaller files. As for "Fast, then slow", it's because Windows at least caches the copy, so it shows faster than actual transfer rates at the beginning. It's all …

Let say I have 6GB of assorted files of all sizes, I get this: At beginning, average 30mb/s then suddenly plunge to steady 10-15MB/s average. It was about bad compatibility really. The SB0220 DOS driver on my machine is really hit and miss when it comes to actually running games. In pure DOS mode games crashing, freezes and all that jazz. What exactly was your goal here? What can the AWE64 give you when running DOS games in Windows, that the Live! cannot? Does the Live! not provide FM synthesis option in its SB emulation layer?

The W95/W98 CD may include the DOS version. Or it may not, it depends on how they packaged it. I think the original released CDs included both, but there may have been many different releases.
