How is the output of the Zoltrix? I think I read that the CMI8830/A has weak output, but that seems more a card design issue than a chip issue IMHO. Do you use SPDIF?

I've just tested the ASUS I-A16C revision 1.2 which is sort of a CT2960. I can confirm the bugs are the same as the CT2960. My ALS007 works in most things, but stereo (including the mixer) is reversed. No MIDI issues with the Waveblaster (Yucucatan FX), I've tested the scenario's where the original SB16 line has issues.

There is a tool to use GUS memory as a drive... I assume on game launch the memory is cleared, but otherwise it could be used to fill up the memory, similar to some of the tricks when too much RAM is detected.

What Wave Blaster pin-out is used? I've noticed that cards like the Orpheus (by comparing recordings), ALS007 and YMF719 have the stereo channels reversed compared to Sound Blaster 16 models.

You could dump the original BIOS and try to find a version of ModBin that works with it. ModBin allows you to enable "hidden" features. There is a chance the options are in the BIOS but not just displayed.

I tried it on hardware but I hear some crackles/distortion and weird sounding loops here and there. Overall it sounds pretty sweet. Can't find my PCM recorder though.
