There are patches for those TP games with runtime crashes. I've had the reboot problem, but in my case I pinned it to EMM386. Tyrian can be 2-played at the same computer (since one can play on the mouse and another at the keyboard/controller it's plausible) or LAN played too, although I've never managed to get it running... yet.

It's a bit similar to my A-Top Z-Alien, although the Z-Alien seems a bit bigger. I not discouraging you but I think it will be nearly impossible to find a matching HDD cage. What about making one or fixing one from another model? It won't look pretty but it'll work.

If the grille wasn't diagonal and no black piano it would be more likely. Design's pretty weird but at least they did some reliable hardware (remember X360 and their 3RL that affected more than 20% of launch consoles?)
