Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

I still suggest you to avoid using a packer. You're using MPRESS, but it always detected by some antivirus software as suspicious. http://veg.by/z/2016-05-28-09-21-58-d139b9f3.png Any packer itself is a useless thing. Just use 7-zip for distributing your files and the result will be even better than …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

I have tested the latest dgVoodoo WIP with the NFS3 Modern Patch. 1. DX8 still doesn't read dgvoodoo.conf from the DLL's directory. 2. DX8 looks like on this video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxsYG4LzThr4OC1mZnRxYTdTLVU/view?usp=sharing 3. DX6 goes into a deadlock when I'm using native …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

@VEG You wrote I had to remove nfs3.ini from the game folder for Alt-Tabbing. Did a quick try but it didn't work for me (using your latest patch advertising Alt-Tab support). :-S What do I do wrong? It doesn't matter what renderer I use, with or without nfs3.ini, Alt-Tabbing is simply disabled. …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Isn't the DX6 renderer cool enough? :) Yes, it have same gameplay graphics now, but for some reason it renders blurred fonts as I had shown before . Also it doesn't restore textures after minimizing. But it will be fixed by “windowed-fullscreen” mode (experimental implementation is mostly ready). …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

NFS 3 offers worse resolutions and like NFS 2 worse graphic! Have you tried NFS3 Modern Patch ? All resolutions are supported by the Glide (dgVoodoo, nGlide) and DX renderers. http://veg.by/files/nfs3/images/screenshot_008_640x480.jpg Also DX6 and DX7 renderers (in the latest beta ) support Fog …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

But nGlide and Zeckensack definitely run into the Texel being at 3 problem as well. Probably, some old versions of the nGlide. nGlide v1.04.3 and newer doesn't have this problem. Zeus had fixed it. dgVoodoo have this problem only when 32bpp mode is used. But Glide API has many limitations, so I …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

DX8 uses a little bit different version of the Thrash API. DX5 is v104, DX6 is v105, DX6 from the NFS4 release is v106, DX7 is v107. DX8 is Thrash API v115. It seems that fog functions was changed a number of times during development of the Thrash API. For example, NFS3 works well with Thrash API …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Headlight problem is also present on NFS 4. NFS3 also has similar problem sometimes: http://veg.by/z/2016-03-26-09-42-16-75b11396.jpg dgVoodoo 2.51, Glide 3x Napalm, 32bpp. 16bpp works nice in this case. DX renderers also have this problem on some systems, but on my PC they work without this …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

DX5/DX6/DX7/DX8: http://veg.by/z/2016-03-26-00-34-40-f75ba89c.jpg Glide2x/Glide3x (dgVoodoo or nGlide): http://veg.by/z/2016-03-26-00-33-57-6a823283.jpg On the first screenshot fonts are blurry. On the second one they are sharp. Are you talking about it? I've not investigated why is there this …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Seriously - settable Texel would finally fix NFS 3, NFS 4, NFS Porsche for having ugly font and that headlight problem. Can you show a screenshot how "bad" fonts look in the NFS3, and how it have to look. And it would be nice to see how “headlight problem” looks. Just to understand what do you mean …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

My tip is the missing DDraw hwnd clipper (not too complicated to create and attach one if you have a DDraw object instance). DX6 and DX7 renderers have the code that adds hwnd clipper (I had found it and it works). I've added to the manifest and as the result DX7 works ok (there is no video because …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Because DDraw could freely draw/overwrite arbitrary parts of the desktop (similarly to GetDC (NULL)) which is not compatible with desktop composition. Roughly, at the moment Windows detects that the application executes such an operation it shuts down DWM Thank you for the explanation. you can …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Also I had tried to add native support of the windowed mode (without wrappers, it have to work even on Windows 98). And it works with the DirectX renderers. But when DirectX 5/6/7 renderers are used, Windows 7 disables Aero and switches to the Basic Theme for a some reason while the game is running …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

I guess it doesn't come with native DX8. Native DirectX 8 renders this track without any problems on my PC. I've tested your DX8 wrapper again and now it looks even worse: sometimes all polygons are distorted and flickering. Last time it was just a few polygons at some places of the track. I don't …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

It seems that DX8 wrapper doesn't look for dgvoodoo.conf in the own directory, like glide3x.dll does. Can it be fixed? Also I've tested dx8 wrapper and it seems that it works a little bit buggy on some places of the track. Some huge parts of tracks are blinking during moving (and only during moving, …
