Re: WIP versions

Edit: Which version am I even supposed to use, x86 or x64, does that depend on the game itself or the OS ? It depends on the game and OS. If you're using a 64-bit OS, and the DX9 game you want to play is also 64-bit, then obviously you'll want to use the x64 DX9 DLL. Otherwise, stick with the …

Re: WIP versions

Oxenfree (x64, DX9) Using WIP58 x64, only renders menus unless anti-aliasing is forced in config file. With anti-aliasing forced, all screen elements use bloom effect, including GUI and message prompts. This does not happen natively.

Re: WIP versions

Ambient occlusion is still messed up in Lego BATMAN: The Official Video Game using WIP58 x86, though to be fair I did report it literally an hour before WIP58 was released.... 🤣

Re: WIP versions

Lego BATMAN: The Official Video Game (DX9) Works wonderfully with WIP57. It actually restores effects, such as bloom and DOF, which no longer work on my Win10 Home v1809 laptop with NVIDIA GTX 1060 Optimus graphics. However, the built-in ambient occlusion seems broken (see attachment), the game …

Re: WIP versions

Could you provide x64 DLLs? You mean x64 version of D3D9? Or maybe all of the DX dlls for purposes like redirecting DX from a virtual machine to their host x64 counterparts? (Like Kjliew does it with Glide in QEmu?) He means providing dgVoodoo 2 D3D9 DLLs compatible with 64-bit games (64-bit …

Re: WIP versions

Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall - Director's Cut (Steam) Works flawlessly without AA enabled in-game; otherwise, freezes when attempting to load a scene (see attachment) with 2 GB RAM for the virtual 3D card. EDIT: Forcing AA via dgVoodoo2 config file seems to do nothing.

Re: WIP versions

Downwell (Twitch Prime) - Does not launch, no debug info generated by either dgVoodoo2 debug or by game. RimWorld (x64, Steam) - Is not loaded. Legend of Grimrock 1 (GOG) - Shadowing glictches out as more and more game time elapses. (see attachment) Mount & Blade (GOG, DX9) - Character …

Certain OpenAL games not running under Win10 v1809

in Windows
I'm running Windows 10 Home v1809 on an Optimus laptop (NVIDIA 1060 6GB + Intel UHD 630, both with the absolute latest drivers), and have been noticing a strange anomaly on certain OpenAL-based games, namely Alcarys Complex and A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build . Specifically, despite having sound …

Re: WIP versions

Planet Alcatraz (Steam version) crashes when attempting to play the intro videos when using WIP51.1 The hefty debug log, detailing multiple attempts to run the game, is attached.

Re: WIP versions

EYE: Divine Cybermancy, a game which requires, at minimum, a SM2.x card, shows a blank screen at the main menu when using WIP55.1. The menu works, but I can't see any of the options. Attached is the debug log.

Re: WIP versions

Re-tested Still Life 2 (GOG.com) using dgVoodoo2 WIP54.1, and not only does it work without needed anti-aliasing set in-game, it also shows shadows as it should! One odd thing is I was not able to force AA via dgVoodoo2, but I was able to use the NVIDIA Profile Inspector to use my GPU's "enhance AA" …

Re: WIP versions

EDIT: Forgot to mention the "FreeMouse" variable must be true in either the global or local dgVoodoo2 config file; otherwise, the mouse is locked to the pre-scaled resolution. Good catch! But why? The FreeMouse variable has to be set somewhere . If the user hasn't setup a dgVoodoo2 config file in …

Re: WIP versions

World of Goo (Humble Bundle version 1.30), a DX7/9 game, works flawlessly with WIP53, though it doesn't truly benefit from resolution scaling. The game uses a mix of DX9 and DX7; running without the DX7 DLLs results in a fatal error, and running with just the DX7 DLLs prevents dgVoodoo2 from hooking …

Re: WIP versions

Really strange bug with Still Life 2 GOG version, which advertises as a PS/VS 2.0 game in its manual. The game won't progress past the intro videos without AA enabled in-game; when run with AA enabled, the character shadows are missing when in-game. Debug logs for when not using and using AA are …

Re: WIP versions

I tested Sins of a Solar Empire on a different computer and it did not have the same resolution enumeration issue. I'm thinking this is another issue with too many resolutions/refresh rates provided by my primary system. That still leaves some confusing questions, but I'll experiment a bit more. …

Re: WIP versions

Rise of Nations (demo) D3D9. Works perfectly with resolution forcing. Questionable benefits because of the 2D buildings though. nations 2018-10-26 20-46-26-61.jpg At least in the retail version, the buildings are actually 3D. I know because when I used to have it and forced AA to remove the jaggies …
