If you want good 3D graphics acceleration under Windows 98 I doubt you would be satisfied with any laptop. Do you need compatibility with DOS games? Well thats a shame if ISA slot isn't fully compatible with sound cards. How do you identify which ISA bridge chip is used? They even have one (IMV8601T-ISA) described as "Game machine motherboard". Would be tempting if I hadn't spent so much on mobo's recently.

Assigning virtual drive to highest letter seems unusual. Normally lowest possible (D:) is what most people do. Tell us what specific games you aren't getting CD audio for.

Not actually an owner but I would pay the extra money for an 775i65G R3.0. If you study the boards carefully quite lot of parts changed between the revisions. Asrock provide totally different bios downloads for the R3.0 compared to the original and R2.0 which seem to share a bios.
