I've gone through every Amiga snake game on Mobygames from 1994 or earlier (year of the original Amiga release of Viper) and didn't see anything it could be a knockoff of. Seriously, nothing even close. I don't think I'm gonna get this one from that info. Feel free to post another hint.

^^ Good choice with ROTT, the music in that one made the game for me. :) One soundtrack that always stuck out IMO was Zone Raiders , if anyone remembers that game. :P It's not particularly poppy "listening" music but is amazingly tense & atmospheric, and the composer did a hell of a good job …

Good luck! You can get that to work if you have the patience, but I've tried and it's generally harder than just soldering on a new connector. If the wires inside the cable are colored it's a (relatively) easy repair: just cut off the broken/chewed side with the DB25 port, test which color goes to which pin with a multimeter, and solder on a new DB25 connector from any electronics shop.
