Honestly that sounds about right for an XFX product. I've personally have never had anything but trouble with parts from them.

Yes. PC 100 will run at 100 MHz and 66mhz. Pc133 will run at 133mhz,100mhz, 66mhz.

I googled and I found for Packard Bell's of this era hitting control+alt+s was a very common combination to enter the bios.

I remember those games back when I was a Jr. In high school we used to play a lan game when I was in Votech for my A+ and Net+ classes. I'll need to search through my old games as I should have it still. My 6 year old son would absolutely love it.

I'd get a battery hooked up. I have had a ton of boards that either refuse to post or just act really weird if the batteries are dead,missing, or low.

I'd make sure the floppy settings are correct in the bios. I'd just double check it's set for 1.44mb and not 1.2mb,720k, 360k ECT.

My best advice would be to give the board a good cleaning with vinegar to remove the akili from the battery and then a good rince with 99% IPA and then see if traces need to be fixed and go from there. Edit: fixed a spelling error.

I would install a bios battery I have had plenty of motherboards that will not post or act weird if the battery is dead,low, or missing. Did the original battery leak and cause and damage to the system?

How are your settings in your bios is everything set properly and saving properly. If your bios battery is low or dead/missing that can cause a whole host of issues.

Have you double checked that the floppy settings in the bios are set correctly? Have you tried other drives and cables in this system and this floppy in another?

It's possible it has fuses inside as some monitors do but if you can move the power plug then I'd say start there and resolder the connections and see if it works. Cause it sounds like the plug has cracked solder connections.
