I don't know the initialization performed by the SB16 Windows 3.1 vxd driver, but I would bet money it's more tightly tied to the hardware than any DOS program. Also, have you confirmed that SB16 support is working using something that can take advantage of native 16 bit support (such as MPXPLAY)?

They claim version 1 is built using 2 layer, single sided boards. That would be an amazing job of optimizing the PCB layout. I take my hat off to them!

If you can build a release version with debug symbols, I'll test it on my end. haha I had so many segfault on linux with players that crashed or whatever ... I use OSS, do you have any idea how to fix that ? to kill the process seem to be of no help, might as well reboot the computer, any idea how …

The Munt library is static, but please check your libasound and libc versions to make sure the ABIs are not out of whack. You will need a 32 bit userland for the dependencies.

Rather than making full AT cases, I suspect the easiest approach would be making AT knockout plates for ATX cases.

Yes and no re: RAMBUS. Bandwidth was good, but latency was absolutely brutal. It's probably marketing for the most part similar to DPI for mice. Where can you actually feel difference between slower and faster latency? Only in benchmarks? It's an issue with branchy code and segmented read patterns. …

49khz and change is the OPL clock. It has to be consistent to have a consistent response to FM instructions.

If you install timidity, does it properly register? Can you play to port 128:0 even though it isn't shown as registered? Can you tie Munt to the midi through port via aconnect even though it isn't registered? (aconnect 14:0 128:0)
