Already have a PCI Vortex2 card installed so how do I install this ISA card without screwing stuff up? Want the vortex for win98 and the 32pnp for dos, new territory for me so I'm asking the sound experts out there.

Never really played old Doom so wasn't aware of the different versions. Got on Ebay and bought what I thought was Doom 2 for dos but overlooked the text on the case saying for Win95. Anyways it works ok for a "front end" version but is the dos iteration that much better and worth getting?

Interesting, I pulled up the setup program and saw there are additional stuff you can add like textures, cut scenes and etc. Didn't see anything regarding changing the resolutions so I'm back at messing around with the "D-fend" controls.

Got DF running on D-Fend reloaded no problem but this game looks a LOT rougher than I remember twenty years ago! Can anyone offer any tips on the config settings to make it look a little better? Maybe on par with DN3D or Doom2? I'm running on my XP rig - see sig.

I waded thru this headache myself and said heck with it and ordered the Atomic edition (has all updates/add ons built in) off ebay, worked fine with my XP rig running Dosbox/D-fend Reloaded.

Success!!! Dropped back Nvidia driver to 93.71 forceware and now Comanche 4 runs like a dream with the graphics jacked up! Props to leileilol for advising that the video drivers were causing the issues, many thanks!

Looking for a card with a little more horsepower but will fit in a micro ATX case - don't think it can be longer than 9". This is for a E8400 Core2 Duo based WinXp system. Most of the cards I looked at are behemoths like GTX 285 and etc. Anyone have suggestions?

Patch didn't help the issues. Found out the Nvidia driver version is 6.14.0012.9573 dated 2012, perhaps I need an older version to play games from 2001-2006? Can anyone recommend a version that might work better?
