Well, the PS/2 turned out to be damaged somewhere inside: it's extremely easy to dislocate and needs removing the entire case cover to be realligned again. Ended up using a serial Genius Net Mouse. Well, the problem with the DIY connector is that it's incredibly flimsy. It works only half the time, and I don't have the skills or equipment to make another one. So I guess, I'll have to source the MIR connector somewhere. You guys are really lucky 😀
