I have also been putting Windows 7 everywhere lately. I even have a couple of rigs with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions installed. 6 GB RAM on a 64-bit system is effectively the same as 3 GB on a 32-bit system isn't it?

You get thirty days of use I think? I know that activation can be postponed ('rearmed') three times with Server 2008 R2, giving you 3 months of free use. Is the same possible with W7?

Interesting. I acquired several 8-port serial cards a few years ago. (UltraPort8i) I believe they came out of medical computers, and someone here speculated they were used for blood analysis machines.

Old style analog joysticks don't need any DOS drivers. They just work. You may have to calibrate them in the game though. (The exception to this are fancy sticks that do some digital trickery over the analog connection, like certain Sidewinder models. These need special software support I believe.) …

Some games have clever coding that corrects for the speed difference, but not many from that era have that. Other games, although designed for 4.77 MHz, allow you to choose the starting difficulty, where easier difficulty = lower speed. These can also be played OK on faster machines. Everything else …

My Dimension 8100 came to me with a Willamette CPU and Windows 7 installed. I immediately put XP on. It was unusably slow, though fully functional.

I had a seller die on me once. A bunch of people were complaining on his feedback page. Eventually someone claiming to be a relative appeared and explained what happened. I did get my money back so it wasn't a scam.
