Seems like you'd need the caps out of the circuit to properly test them. I really think your problems are due to that horrible dirt on the chip socket. Have you tried it after cleaning yet?

According to this: http://support.toshiba.com/support/staticCont … omTOCLink=false There should be a real YMF262 in there. Also, check the BIOS settings. There should be a "screen stretch" option or something like that.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it makes heavy use of C++11 functions. I haven't tried the audio functions yet. Something to look at.

How is the audio affected? It looks like something is breaking down in the right tube. See if you can mooch a tube tester off of someone and see how it tests. What's the tube number? You can probably source one on AES or something for a pretty good price.

Commander Keen 4, 5, 6, and Dreams (and mods/fangames based on these) all have purely Adlib sound effects and music. No digitized sound whatsoever.

SoundCloud works of course, but the audio quality is low enough that you'll definitely notice the compression. You could just use Google Drive and post the recordings as FLAC or high quality AAC/MP3.

Well, you could hit up local recycle centers and find a Super Socket 7 MB and some K6-II or K6-III CPUs. Those both are pretty easy to find, and are usually pretty reliable.

A TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) is a program that you load in DOS (usually in autoexec.bat, so during startup) which loads itself into memory and then terminates. It stays in the memory until you remove it or restart the computer.
