Re: DOSBox SVN Builds

To verify it's not the latest SVN can you try compiling an older SVN ver? I just compiled the last working revision I compiled before (r4055) and now it has the same error. 8-O I'm a bit baffled, because I can't remember updateing or changing anything. I'll set up a fresh MinGW ennvironment as try …

r4059 crashes when closed

My latest builds of DOSBox SVN r4059 crash whenever I close them via the "X" in the title bar. Closing it by entering "exit" in the DOSBox windows works, however. I tried it on several PCs, it happended all the time. Can anyone confirm this error?

Re: DosBox-0.74-ES

Anyway thanks for your hard work with shaders implementation. I think it's as important as an emulator accuracy. But unfortunately DosBox community doesn't pay much attention to it (( That takes patience. I've been releasing my build regularly for about a year now and it's just recently that it got …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

Yesterday I tried playing "Screamer" with my XBox 360 Wireless racing wheel, only to be remembered that joystick axis in DOSBox are limited to a maximum of 4 in total. So, using 2 joysticks, in my case my Logitech F710 and the racing wheel, you can use only 2 axis per stick, basically the left …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

It's not true that noone was using the Linux version, I was for one. Though I compiled it from the source, but still used it. Oh, ok. One person was using the linux version after all. :) Might I ask why you compiled it again for yourself? Did you make any changes before compiling? YP80, fmstrength …

Re: DOSBox ECE (Windows, Linux)

Almost all patches interfere with each other. Especially in the files dosbox.cpp, sdlmain, cpp, makefiles, etc. So almost all new or changed patches have to be edited by hand (often applying and reversing them again and again) and then applied in the correct order. No real procedure here, sorry. :) …

Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows)

Patch (the utility) can usually work around that, as long as it's not the same hunk being modified. One of these days, I'll get you to send me the list of patches you apply and try it myself. The patch utility can work around wrong line definitions, but as you already said, if the same parts of a …

Re: DOSBox ECE (Windows, Linux)

Any chance you could document your patch procedure, if any patches interfere, etc? Almost all patches interfere with each other. Especially in the files dosbox.cpp, sdlmain, cpp, makefiles, etc. So almost all new or changed patches have to be edited by hand (often applying and reversing them again …

Re: DOSBox ECE (Windows, Linux)

Is there any practical way for me to switch back to the old launch image, or create a new one, if I prefer? Not without compiling a new new binary from the source code and replacing the image file, sorry. FYI: I adjusted the version numbers for my builds to the latest corresponding revisions which …

Re: DOSBox ECE (Windows, Linux)

Also is there possible to implement WIzardry 6-7 audio popping fix in your build like in this one https://www.gog.com/forum/wizardry_series/wizardry_7_dos_audio_popping_fix ? His DOSBox build has several customizations I wouldn't want to copy over to DOSBox ECE, so making a diff without coding …

lukeman3000 wrote: Will the linux version(s) of DOSBox ECE work on a raspberry pi running retropie? And will it support all features such as the MT-32 emulation, pixel-perfect patch, and etc.? I don't think it will run because it was compiled on/for x86 CPUs, the PIs have ARM CPUs though.

Re: Quake2 fullscreen in software renderer

Another alternative would be to use a sourceport. I recommend Yamagi Quake 2 , because it is based on the official sourcecode of the latest patches but greatly improved, but it doesn't alter the gameplay and sticks to the original look and feel of Quake 2. You could call it an unofficial Quake 2 7. …
