Delta, LiteOn are also very fine PSUs, better than FSP usually. They can be found as OEM in brand PCs. Your Athlons could use 30A or more on the 5V rail,

My impression was that the 9700 replaced the 8000 series (performance cards), and the 9000/9100/92x0 were for the masses with lower performance than the 8500. Still picked up a 9000pro this weekend 😀

It's pretty common and I think chances are very high for it to be a VIA chipset. It possbily need some caps changed (or all) but it could only be the light falling strangely on them.

Disassembled my Roland SC 155 and sure enough, the battery was leaking. Luckily these batteries do not seem to be corrosive.

It used to be interesting back in my teenage years and I've done it. Do not attempt it ír you don't have an eprom/flash programmer that can be used to recover a broken rom.

Has someone got the Hercules/Guillemot 3D Prophet DDR-DVI? Chips are marked SGRAM, with both sides populated. My card is pretty beat up, and I need some high resolution photos to ease the restore attempt.

Not exactly today's score but this weekends (about 4 euros each, the Pi was cheaper): - Asus V8440 (Ti 4400, it POSTs fine, not tested further yet) - P5K SE with an E8200. Matrox yes, ATI Radeon is too new, Rage could work. There's also the Mach64 on PCI that works for sure. Not better than the S3 Virges.

I do have a Shuttle HX board and can test a 5200 based Quadro in it. The board came with a Tseng ET6000 so that definetely works fine.

What kind or PSU exactly? OVP should have kicked in if it had any. OVP is not going to kick in to prevent the explosive gas from exploding that has formed from the electrolyte degrading. To get this kind of reaction I think you need a pretty violent and long overvoltage. This is why I think PSUs …
