well, judging by the discourse here, i think i'll be sticking with a p3. (but once I get a BP7, then it's all hands on deck for dual overclocked celeries!)

True, but an OC celeron can perform very well, or so i've seen @jcarvalho Oooh! Can't forget the dual-slot boards! I do want one of those.

That brings up a good point. In these earlier systems (286, 386, 486), how much does cache improve performance? Is it worth it to go all out 512kb on like, a 5x86-P75? Does a 286 handle lots of cache well? It's a subject i don't know much about.

Having already dealt with bad caps on a DFI Lanparty nf3 250gb, i would not be opposed to swapping some caps to get a good board. Thank you for the tips!

What could happen with a bus speed of 83 on a board that only unofficially supports it? I mean it says no but people seem to say it does the job at 83 just fine.
