Re: Mixer for sound cards and midi modules.

Is there any models that would allow mixing at least 4 stereo inputs? Your best bet is the Behringer RX1602. It's a rack mixer designed specifically for stereo sources (up to 8 of them): https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RX1602--behringer-eurorack-pro-rx1602-rackmount-line-mixer It uses …

Re: Let's talk parts washers and ultrasonic cleaning

I'm looking for an inexpensive setup. something big enough that i can dunk a motherboard in. Define "inexpensive". I also have a feeling that the size requirements to clean an MB (ATX size?) will likely preclude anything cheap. Most cheap ultrasonics are quite small; they're aimed at cleaning …

Re: Overkill workstations - what are your thoughts?

I suppose it entirely depends on what you're using it for. For standard desktop computing or gaming? Pretty pointless compared to a regular desktop. But if you're doing rendering or other multi-core intensive tasks where time is of the essence, then I suppose it could be useful.

Re: Your mobile tech

My smart phone is the only thing I'd consider essential. And that's because it's the only phone I have (no land line anymore). Having Internet access every where I go is also fantastic. I have a tablet but I never take it anywhere and barely use it. Haven't gotten into smart watches yet and don't …

Re: Bad movies and horrible films

Anybody know the names of any of those old post-apocalyptic movies that they always had those crazy looking vehicles in them (armor, spikes, guns put together in a really irrational way)? Usually a desert-ish setting with different people fighting for control of whatever. Sounds like The Road …

Re: Magnetically Shielded Speakers

I would appreciate it if you would, actually. I've already been burned once(arguably twice, since I purchased 2 sets of the same model), and I don't want to get burned again. I tested out my newer 2.1 Promedia's (for the record, they are a few years old at this point) with an older Samsung 17" CRT. …

Re: Magnetically Shielded Speakers

There are a couple of different results that come up on Amazon for Klipsch Promedia: * https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-ProMedia-Computer-Speaker-System/dp/B07F6SFCYX/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1539202515&sr=8-3&keywords=klipsch+promedia * https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-ProMedia-Certified-Computer- …

Re: Magnetically Shielded Speakers

I strongly disagree with this. Studio Monitors are designed primarily for accuracy when recording/mixing/etc and not casual listening. so good speakers sound worse than crappy speakers, got it It's not about good vs crappy. It's about what the speakers are designed for. Good studio monitors will …

Re: Magnetically Shielded Speakers

Does anyone know of a good specific make and model for desktop speakers that have GOOD magnetic shielding? I'd recommend Klipsch Promedia's. My first pair were snuggled up next to a 19" CRT monitor and I had no issues when it came to magnetic shielding and effects on the monitor. They produce good …

Re: Magnetically Shielded Speakers

in that case if you want to look at current speakers look at studio monitors, most are still magnetically shielded and will give you way better sound than 99% of the computer speakers out there... I strongly disagree with this. Studio Monitors are designed primarily for accuracy when recording/ …
