The buzz is from FDD, when I insert the disk, not the HDD.

I bought a hard drive that fits, MK1403MAV. Now I inserted a Windows 95 floppy boot disk, it shows repeatedly: 'Insert system disk in drive. Press any key when ready...' Also, a weird buzz sound. Is this error any of you get?

Hmmm, you can get something very close to OPL3 with the ESS solo-1. Looking at your previous thread, you were trying to access the FM chip within windows. For that, the ESS solo-1 does work, but you need to make sure you load the VXD drivers (not the newer WDM drivers) Does this ESS solo ES1938S …

I have a Satellite 400CDT at home. I'm reasonably sure the HDD looks just like that. But, yeah, I find it much easier to use a CF adapter. I tried a couple of newer 2.5 drives with some of my other laptops and it was kind of a pain. Pain when you pull it out because of the tightness? A site here, …

As has been mentioned above, you don't need to worry about these (non-removable) 'extra' 4 pins - they are only there to allow for correct Master / Slave / Cable Select configuration.
