Neat system, and nice upgrade! I had an Asus P5QL-E on the P43 chipset, and it failed for me pretty early in its life. It was still functional, but unstable. Hopefully, you will not have that issue.

I would try a dry erase marker next. I've had good success with writing over the letters with a lot of dry erase, and then cleaning it off.

Do you have any other sound cards installed? In windows 98, go into the Device Manager and, with the Top Level item selected (Your computer name), select Properties. This should allow you to view objects by IRQ, and Base Address. Do you have IRQs free?

That is probably where I would land in your shoes. The resound is optimal as an FM only supplement to a card with an OPL3 clone. My SS7 build uses an SB Pro 2 and MPU-401AT in the ISA slots, and an Audigy 2ZS in PCI for Windows use.

The only issue that I've encountered was when using 2 miniDP and one DVI, I experienced screen tearing on the DVI monitor due to some differences in the way the output was implemented. This was with 3 Dell U2412m monitors and an XFX HD6950.

AGP can only provide up to 2A on the 5V rail, and neither the Geforce 4 or Radeon 8500 series cards have external power connectors. The Tualatin is also a very efficient processor. There should not be any issues.
