Grandma was upgraded? Forgot to say, the P90 now has the Midi S2 and the celeron has the S1 wave blaster card. My original Dell had the Sound blaster 16, but I'm happy with the Yamaha.

There is no built in sound. And no Bios options for any re-assigning of any irqs etc. It's very basic.

Thanks for your help. I've tried the drivers and nothing.. On the drivers that Jesolo provided, there was no 'hardware not detected' message but no sound either. I give up with that card. I had a replacement ESS ES186F ISA Sound card, but when this is installed, the mouse driver won't find the mouse …

Find somewhere dry and cosy to store these systems and store them. I threw away a working socket 939 system when I upgraded to my Intel 4670k and realised I should have just packed it up and tucked in the loft for 5 years. I now find myself spending good money to buy old stuff that I had.

Don't fret. I ended up buying 3 AMD motherboard bundles that didn't work. But I manged to use the other bits that came with the bundles, PSU, RAM, Heatsink and Fans etc. The speakers connector should be 4 pins. That either links up to the chassis speaker or you can buy a seperate speaker module. …

Thanks for the continued support and driver link. The card should arrive later this week. I thought I had a bargain with the £2 (+£2 S&H) on the other card being a Realtek and all; but with lost hours trying to get it to work. I'm still blaming Phil for this.. 🤣

I've wasted too much time on this card. 😵 I've tried NDIS2 drivers, but WFW blue screens on load. With NDIS3, the driver doesn't load correctly. So.. I've purchased another PCI LAN card with definite WFW 3.11 support. (D-Link DFE-530TX). Apparently the drivers are in the box.

What kind of driver are you loading in DOS? Packet Driver, NDIS or ODI? I've had success using Packet Drivers in DOS and then loading the WINPKT shim driver to make it a little more Windows friendly (can be found at http://www.crynwr.com/drivers/ ) but this was more for using Trumpet Winsock (or …
