I picked up a 1GHz Coppermine for £3, and an adapter for 9.99, so even if it's not the issues it's a small investment. Just need a cooler.

I would try Amibay. The focus over there is Amiga's but it's not really different and I'm sure you can find someone to do it. A chap over there repaired my Amiga and monitor so I'd recommend it.

Yeah I'm not convinced it's the GPU not coping either, I was able to bump it up to 112 on the FSB, but anymore and the PC won't boot. I'm in the UK, so shipping from Germany is very doable. For what I need I'm not convinced I would ever need a Tualatin, unless there's something I'm not thinking of, …

Thank you for all the advice everyone. I did consider a PCI card, however I'm happy enough with my TI4200 that I'll probably keep it. I'm not in desperate need of a Tualatin one, i don't need THAT much power, but sadly on 550 MHz some games start to dip (Surface Tension chapter on HL1 for example.) …

Hi all, My BH6 system has been happily chugging along for a few months now, with no real issues. However the P3 CPU I have in there is a 733mhz 133FSB one and unfortunately it won't clock any higher than 550 without crashing. Thanks for the advice all. Can I just check - is it JUST the bootup screens that are 720x400 70hz? If everything else is different I can cope since I could just hook up my budget monitor if I need to change any settings. If everything else works that'd be fine.

It does have a DVI output and I bought an adapter but sadly it doesn't seem to work properly with my main screens. It just causes my PC to lockup before it even posts if connected. Installing the proper drivers worked perfectly, now the default settings worked under Windows 98. I'm certainly not the best to answer this, but when I was building my 98 PC I had problems where my DVD drive would stop being detected sometimes. I ended up having a faulty stick of RAM, I'd definitely try running memtest, as there is no harm in trying. And btw nothing wrong with your English 😀
