Finally got around to building the mATX LGA775 Windows 98SE/XP dualboot box with working PCI DOS Sound (Solo-1) project. It turns out the last IDE DVD-ROM I had is dead so I went ahead and bought a couple SATA ones. I will try my luck with those later.

It seems my last IDE DVD-ROM is dead. I am building an LGA775 system on a VIA P4M890 motherboard. If I were to use a SATA drive would it play ball witn Win 98SE? Do I have to set it to IDE mode for this?

After 100%'in Pillars of eternity, I got started on Tyranny. It's not the instant love affair I thought it would be, but that is partly duet o playing a character that I did not turn out to enjoy much thematically. I will reserve my judgement until after restarting with a new character..

I took apart my Celeron 1300 mATX DOS/Win9x PC; I will be rebuilding it as an Core2Duo E4600 mATX PC dual booting Win9x and a secondary OS (not sure which yet though, WinXP, Win7 or some kind of Linux/BSD are the most likely candidates..)
