EDIT: put it in slave mode and it worked. What could have changed for it to work?

Hi all I am trying to get the Quad Speed Cd Rom to work. are there any specific drivers for it? it is not being detecting on DOS or Windows 98. Drive opens and close and CD spins

I will be using 60ns simms, but the ideal would be 50ns. 50ns are almost impossible to find, i don't even know if there were any available and used for 30pin simms. Hi I am looking for a computer that was made by Syntax Computers in the 1990's. They made 386 and 486 computers.. I want it for nostalgia reasons as it was my first PC. if any one could help me track one, I would appreciate it. I am attaching a picture of it taken from a video screen shot
