I backed up the old bios whilst flashing the the new one. However the update worked fine and I'm now on 2.9 and my quiet 60GB drive is detected 😀 now I can get on a set it up like I was planning on 6h ago 😁

I have "1.12 bx2". The bios very clearly says it is CPU PnP in the "special features" so I'm going to go for the plug and play bios. And also hope that 2.9 includes the 2.a hdd update as it is dated later... Thanks for having a look

Try without GPU and RAM. If you get a long beep without RAM then the sticks may have gone bad. I don't get any beeps unfortunately with GPU and RAM disconnected. I tried a 64mb DIMM in it's one DIMM slot but that didn't work either. I'm still convinced it's something simple like a loose power …

I bought an MS6 6119 Rev 1.12 BX2 from eBay. Are the PCI/ISA card brackets actually going through the holes on the motherboard tray... Yeah the pointy part of the bracket is going through the slot around the back of the case ...Additionally, you can loosen up the motherboard screws to allow the motherboard wiggle room to line it up better, …

That's a shame about the CT3910 as I just bought a ct3600! (for 75% of the cost of this PC!) Would I be able to put an Intel / AMD CPU in there or would you need to know the chipset to advise on that? I think I'll go for it as I've never dabbled with Socket 7.

I love Slot A stuff so I'm pleased to see another one in good shape! Mine is daily driver for retro gaming which I picked up for cheap before I realised they were not that common. I also use mine with a Voodoo 3 2000 pci.
