The board is only PCIe 1.0, but generally there should be no issues with risers.

Personally, I just use rip-ties for cables. Not need to untangle anything. Fast and efficient.

15k is not silent. Not ot on 20+ years old HDDs anyway I see no practical point, if you want to overcome any limits, just use regular PATA controller or even SATA with an SSD. SCSI is such a hassle to setup too.

Asrock looks to be more limiting: only 2 PCI slots. And one slot will be blocked, if you're planning to use powerful AGP card.

Lightmaps are not filtered, but they are alpha blended over normal textures, so it creates the illusion of filtering.

400 is 400 watts. Regardless of lithography. That's not something you want to do with stock air cooler though. Especially with two cards, sitting in close proximity with each other.

Original Pentium was dual-channel (two 32-bit SIMMs). And 386DX was quad-channel (four 8-bit SIMMs). RDRAM on i850 is also dual-channel - two 16-bit channels.

did anyone other than Nvidia support VBE3 Humorously enough, late SiS GPUs (SiS 305 and newer). From memory I don't think any ATI/AMD video card ever shipped with VBE3.0 Apparently, ATi GPUs refresh rate for VESA modes can be tweaked via BIOS flashing.

If it fits, that box cooler would be more than enough for 1Ghz Coppermine. Intel fans are also quiet and more reliable.

Performance wise, you won't gain much. Stock Radeon 9500 is slower than Radeon 9600 Pro.

Windows XP 64-bit is just an inferior edition of Windows 2003 Server. So might as well install better version, if you go 64-bit route.

Pentium 200 will require active cooling on that motherboard. The radiator is sitting very closely to linear voltage regulators.
