Will the Voodoo2 run at 66 MHz? Potentially yes. There was Obsidian2 AGP card, which seemingly works without any bridge chip of sorts.

SIS 496 don't have integrated IDE. It's provided via Winbond/UMC I/O chip. Which is, presumably, connected to ISA bus.

cooling without a IHS is better than with an IHs It doesn't matter for Tualatin though. TDP is too low.

Used small capacity Transcend/Apacer/InnoDisk DOMs are perfectly fine. And there's plenty of those circulating as new old stock too.

Are Intel CPUs as fragile? If you worry about the damage, buy thin silicon pads or make pads from paper (multiple paper strips glued together). Place them around the crystal and you're good to go.

Actually most of these benchmarks were made free long before 2017. 3DMark Vantage was added to the legacy page in 2017.

Apparently Acumos AVGA2/Cirrus Logic 5402 aren't very stable cards to begin with, because they had to rely on motherboard oscillator, which can cause problems. I think underclocking your system to 33 or 25 Mhz could help.

I haven't found a single better option then those DOMs. They are reliable, fast enough for all machines from that age and cheap. 32Gb SSD DOM is not meant for 286/386 machine, they work absolutely fine with SD/CF cards or small DOMs from Transcend, InnoDisk and etc. And for late 486 and newer, …

"Playable" probably means you got 20 fps or so You can't get only 20fps on high end Athlon XP or Pentium 4 3Ghz+, that's Pentium 3 Coppermine +/- 1Ghz level.
