By the way, quite a lot of IDE flash modules also used SLC, they are nearly unkillable and fast.

Probably none and I think it's dead, at least two traces were damaged. I shudder to think what would happen if this was used in a 1.5v slot Nothing will happen.

With old cards I am suspicious about faster drivers having more visual speed hacks Rage128 already has "optimised" linear filtering.

As every later revision it doesn't have the coast slot because Actually some small amount of revision 3.x boards had the COAST module.

Technically they are almost identical, but I had some problem with VESA Powerslave/Exhumed (probably TekWar too) on 3dfx, which is not present on any Nvidia card.

Also, do I understand it correctly that there is no point in hunting for 4coredual SATA1 instead 775dual? Yes, you can reflash it into 4coredual or just install BIOS chip from the dead 4coredual motherboard (SATA2 version is not compatible).

That's most likely mobo BIOS problem and I/O card without BIOS has nothing to do with it.

I know my rev 3.1 has the TAG RAM socket, but it still caches 128MB just fine. 430HX requires two TAGs to cache all 512mb.

As far as I know, modern board will work fine with non-UEFI cards like GTX 280, so that's not the case.

You should be fine with 1024mb and tweaks. 3 gigs is useless for games which Athlon XP can run with decent performance. Especially when paired with such horrible card.
