Moderate overclocking won't do anything to a lifespan of hardware, even when slightly increasing voltage.

What's wrong with the S370 boards that have ISA slots? Harder to find good board for underclocking/overclocking, less options for CPU choise and chipsets after 440BX are mixed bag in terms of performance.

Glide and OpenGL are two different things. Most games with OpenGL support don't have native support for Glide at all. Instead they use OpenGL wrapper. There are few exceptions though like Hitman: Codename 47.

Except it's not, even some GTS cards were produced with 64mb VRAM.

I have no problem running V2 SLI even on Core 2 Quad. "Period correct hardware" is a silly and unpractical self-limitation really.

Voodoo 2 SLI is extremely CPU bottlenecked. are there any glide games the Radeon 8500 would not be able to run with a wrapper anyway Most likely not, but picture quality will be worse in some aspects.

Little bit of necroposting here. However, if you want the best BX of all times - it is def ABIT, BF-6 or BX-133. They let you go by 1 MHz and are stable as hell. ABIT BX-133 have problems with various memory and it's pretty much impossible to run stable with two ram sticks on 133 mhz FSB or higher. …

here's another GeForce 256 that just showed up, the SDR version for $75 plus a lot for shipping Cheap high density SDR 7ns memory. Pure garbage. I think that's castrated 64bit memory bus version.
