I have the programmer to put bios chip in, but I need to set the type of chip in the program but the chip markings are covered by the bios sticker which I would prefer not to remove. Thanks. That kind of makes it difficult to see a situation where using that would be useful in normal use. I assume the roms used would be network card specific and such roms would be likely to be hard to find nowadays.

It just feels suspicious. I just noticed that text in the center on the other side of the cpu is skewed in similar way. I don't have a way to test it right now, but I can't really return it either just because of a suspicion...

Wouldn't it be simplest to try the card with another motherboard with same OS and same driver version to see if it is issue with the motherboard or the chipset? Edit: I was actually going to quickly test it with my 440BX motherboard, but unfortunately my Geforce 6600 is only for 1.5V AGP
