an amd k6 can't be used without extra modifications to the mainboard since it requires a lower cpu core voltage. your best bet for this is a pentium 1 cpu without mmx, Intel P54C K6 Model 6 CPUs will be fine at 3.3V. Yes, you can drop the FSB as low as the board can go. The CPU will play along nicely.

Afaik the K6-III CPUs simply don't have a 1x multiplier. They go from 2.5x up to 6x. You can set it to 2.5x though.

As far as I can tell the gameport breakout cable is connected in reverse. Pin1 appears to be on the left so the red wire goes to the left. Right. I recommend you losen the EEPROM before so it barely makes contact and put a cable tie around it to pull it out of the socket with.

Searching for PcChips M577 it appears to have a 32pin EEPROM. If you have another board with the same EEPROM socket you should be able to hotflash the EEPROM from the PcChips M577 using UniFlash 1.40.👍

If you can keep your finger on the back of the card for some time it's probably safe.👍 Getting warm air is also a good sign as I read it. Means the heatsink works.
