wow, i always thought you needed a driver to make the games work with sound under DOS. I have zero knowledge on 8bit ISA cards. I always thought that even original Adlib card needed a driver or some sort of TSR like the "sound.com" file I will try it without any driver then

Check that the wiring matches what I've marked in the photo. If it's all ok, then I'd probably try lifting the 10k resistor, tape off the Vcc pad, then put the resistor back using what I think is the nearby Gnd via. Be careful not to short Vcc to Gnd. My guess is that the side of the 10k resistor (marked 103) you've marked with the arrow will connect to pin 147 of the edge connector. The other side of the resistor probably connects to Vcc. That would mean that if pin 147 isn't driven by the motherboard then the middle pin of the 5 pin chip ( …

and even LPT1 is available on intel 775 motherboards and laptops too. i was trying to find info to se if its possible to use a laplink DB25 cable, + a db25 to USB adapter to see if its possible to make it work on modern computers but i think its not possible i was not able to find anything.

Oh panda, maybe you know, but why does a motherboard like this need an 8pin p4 power connector + PLUS a molex connector near the video slot? the manual says that the molex connector is for videocard. i found that odd, for example a geforce 8800gt needs its own power cables.

this one had the stock intel cooler and around the cpu area it looks a little bit bended, but it works, i will only use it using a cooler that has a backplate tho.

MSI for sure went balls out with the cooper on their P35/P45 Palatinum boards, Gigabyte did too On their Extreme DQ series boards which had a huge copper cooling radiator as part of the kit, sadly most MSI platinum boards I have run across are either dead or have serious IO issues/Damaged ram slots …
