Thanks, I had seen the battery mod for the 1287, I was just unsure if this was similar enough for it to work, and which pins need to be tied into. I'll see what I can find in the datasheet. Thanks for attaching it!

EVERY SINGLE capacitor on the motherboard looked like these. Frankly I'm shocked it even powered on, let alone booted to the CMOS setup in an intelegible way. Nice find! I can't help with more info, but I'm a sucker for those old Packard Bells. My first PC-compatible was a PB Legend 20CD, which was a 486 DX266 with 4MB ram and a 1MB video card. If I saw one of those today, I'd probably have to jump on it. Make sure and post an update when you get it!
