since your board has video on board, my guess its looking for Monitor DDC to report output presence. I meant the cards, so other way around older boards have uefi bios with legacy fallback, newer ones lack legacy and wont boot with non uefi compatible gpu

something weird with those Doom realticks, I had a (mis)fortune of playing Doom on 386dx40 back in the day, and there is no way it ran faster than 10-15 fps at low details. Did you mean post stamp sized window and low details?

same value as C2 is one of the pads connected to one of the keyboard connector pins? if so it can be 47pF and doenst need to be there, could also mean keyboard controller chip is dead in any case you need to clean up the area

When VLB came out CPUs became slower than VGA, so differences were minimal unless you got a really bad implementation. This one looks good, comparable with other VLB/PCI cards.

any socket7 cpu is bad for software Quake above VGA quake cant use 3dfx in DOS, you need to run windows GLQuake for silky smooth ~50fps in 800x600

$60 ebay one 😀, seller specializes in this stuff, you can try asking him directly 30 pin simms = budget board, usually slow lower right corner is a space for 3V regulator, and soldered jumper, super easy to mod
