It doesn't have a sensor for temperatures and I doubt it does any throttling. I'd look at the CPU, maybe press reset during a game and look at bios temps? What CPU are you using?

Should work fine with a v2, even sli. What driver are you using and what CPU do you have? Older drivers throw that error when the CPU is too fast. You can test this by setting the CPU to a slower speed in your pc's bios, it should work when you downclock the CPU.

Quite sure that it's somewhere near the bios chip area, when I put in the PCI screw so the card is firmly installed it won't work. Pressing the bios chip while making sure the card isn't flexed or bended makes it boot okay.

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. I tried pushing it down into the slot instead of flexing the card but no difference. Also removed the bracked, and used contact spray to clean the pci connector.

Update: instead of pressing it down until after the HDD detection, pressing it down until I see the Adaptec copyright is enough (1 second). Nobody has an idea? 😒

Fixed it. Apparently CTSYN in Windows directory had P300 for the MPU-401 interface, just like SET BLASTER. I searched for a default CTSYN and noticed it used P330. Reverting to that and changing the BLASTER environment variable fixed the issue.
