Re: Welcome to the updated VOGONS

Did someone mentioned a very old version of IE being still able to load this forum without javascript? I can't remember in which thread. I've tried both 5.01 and Netscape 4.08, neither can let me log in.

I have a feeling that me and Snover could’ve been great friends while talking about web design. LOL. I work with web design for like almost two decades and I have never met someone with the same passion for this work. Researching to make sure he choses the right font size, is something I would do. …

Oh, come on... while I agree that the font is not the "mainstream" font used by many forums or boards, there's nothing that stop them from using a different font. I don't dislike the current font, but I have no problem with that. So far it's good for me. There are browser add-ons to change that for …

my only problem with the new forum is the lack of the go to top of page button. if you could add that I would be totally happy with the new forum. Likewise I would love to have the " Your posts | New posts | Active topics" navbar at the end of the thread too, so I don't need to scroll back to the …

Re: What game are you playing now?

I'm now trying to play FIFA 98 RTWC on Windows 2000. The game is very playable, but the menus are messed up for some reason. When I played with Windows XP it was fine. It's difficult to navigate through the menus when you forget where are the buttons. They only reveal when I mouse over the areas and …

Subjectivity knows no bounds! Personally I disagree with 99% of the styling recomendations suggested so far. And personally I think you should all listen to me... coz. Form should follow function and I feel that has been achieved. Perhaps it is more constructive to concentrate on issues rather than …

Re: Heads up: Vogons will be updated

They are not the same, but still serves my purposes to have both “your posts” and “new posts”. Nothing changed for me really. I’m getting used to old skool theme now, its better than default. Zero complaints so far. They did a good job I must admit it. The mobile version is almost perfect. My …

Pfft if you've only played through Indy once you've got two more paths to do. Please, don’t tempt me. I’m not that type of player. It was hard enough to do it once. I would probably do that ten years ago, but not now. Besides, one more thing down from my bucket list. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic. …

Right now I finished an exhaustive adventure game - Indiana Jones and The Fate Of Atlantis. My God. Exhaustive. From 6PM to 3AM in the middle of the night with a stop for dinner. I may go to a shower and my deserved bed time now. At least its one game down - I need to play Full Throttle in another …

Before the upgrade you only had one post. So the number matches and a backup made to test development on also only has one post for you which is a lot older. Are you sure about having more posts ? (are you not confused with a different account you might have had ?) Massive apologies, I must have …

Just found the color setting option. Not bad either. I prefer white on dark background, instead of black on light background. But I will stick to old skool option for a while to see if I can get used to it. The default option is good enough for me, though.

Re: Welcome to the updated VOGONS

So far no problems for me. I welcomed the update for my phone. But I have to agree on some aspects of the design like what @realnc said above. Contrast is the key when you want a fluid design without lines to separate stuff. Theres a forum (I’ve mentioned it before in another topic) which replicates …

Works fine with New Moon 28.8.0a1 so far, on Windows 2000 Professional. EDIT: Also tested editing on SeaMonkey 2.49.5, Windows 2000 Professional. Both browsers running thanks to BWC Kernel extenders. I have only one issue: dithered backgrounds make it harder to read.

It's not that bad in desktop mode and a modern browser. I'm on Safari and macOS Catalina. As with everything, it will take time to get used to it. The active topics link is now "your posts", and it's shown in desktop mode but not in mobile mode.
