Solved: It was my CPU after all. Disabling L1 cache did the trick.

Hi guys, I have this odd issue where mouse movement doesn't appear to be "smooth" when moving the cursor around and occasionally clicks don't register (same issue in geoscape, tactical, and menus.) Thanks for the links. Tried altap disk clone and it's the same issue I had before with it saying the disk isn't formatted properly. Raread/rawrite gives me an error about not being able to get info on the disk drive. I'll give CopyIIPC a go later on and report back! Update: Can't get Copy II PC to …

I have a couple of old PC booter 3.5" disks I want to back up, as I'm terrified they'll become unreadable any time now. Since you can't just read the files in Windows/DOS etc. is there a way to copy the disk into an image file, or at the very least duplicate the disk to a newer floppy to use when I …

Thanks for this, Phil! Everything is working perfectly. Question: Is there a way I can set DOS to start at c:\ when I boot? Currently it starts at c:\Windows - not a big deal but saves a CD command every time I boot up 😀

That did it! Got a score of around 12.5 after disabling L2 cache in BIOS. WC runs perfectly now. Thanks for your help with this!

Hmm OK, so Speedsys gives me a score of 25.7 with L1D+BPD+VPD. Maybe I was just expecting WC to run slower than it is? Guess I just have to get faster with the joystick :blush: That score puts it in 486 territory. Are you disabling L2 cache? You will have to do it through your BIOS as Setmul only …
