My results for a Matrox G400 32MB and 2x 3Dfx Voodoo 2 12MB in SLI on a Pentium III-S 1.26Ghz running on a QDI Advance 10T with Via Apollo Pro 133T and 256MB of PC133 at 2-2-2-2 timmings. Sound card is a Live! 5.1 digital and OS is Win98 SE. 6.23 drivers + G400 @125/166Mhz = 38.1fps @16bit 6.23 …

I think unreal was crashing because there are too many GL extensions. After a crash it would always show this in the log file: Filename unreallog.png File size 47.09 KiB Views 1761 views

Where did you find the version info for those drivers? The numbers I used I found in the INF files. Many of these drivers I got from different places (like driverguide), some didn't come with any description or a readme. Each INF does have a date, I could list them by date. Edit: Found Rage tweak …

I tried that demo on my K6-3 system and it just crashes the game. I tried with the Geforce card and the TNT2 with driver versions 2.08 and 12.41. Those graphs are from anandtech. He used a TNT. I wonder what driver he used and what settings? From the article, his half life results are really low for a P2. He got 22.3fps on a P2 400 with the TNT. I got 34.72 fps on a P2 450 with a TNT. I even used an old version of half life, old driver (2.08 …

On the G450 PCI in quake2 try setting gl_dynamic to 0. That made a big difference on my G450 PCI. Seemed to be only quake2 that was that much slower on the PCI version of the card. Then I lose dynamic lighting though? Yes. It might just be a driver bug. I haven't had time to try much with that card …
