AMR can only do modem and sound, and er... i810 integrated sound can't exactly compete with either YMF724 or AWE64. CNR or ACR could do LAN, but that's too new for this board. But what's in the third PCI slot? PCI LAN+PCI Audio+ISA audio should work...

Don't jump to too quick conclusion regarding the CT-RIMM. The reason for the third slot was (obviously) to allow use of three RIMMs. Unfortunately Intel couldn't get the signals stable enough with three RIMMs so instead you need to shorten the signal paths with that CT-RIMM. Ah, PC Chips lottery strikes again. No wonder the solution looked familiar 😉 J1 is the modem riser, and looks like at least the ECS version of the BIOS had an option in it to disable "Onboard PCI Modem". That's the alternative to digging up drivers for it, of course.

"That era" was five years earlier than the CPUs you're using, so wouldn't rule it out. That said, usually it's just a speed issue, but in that case a P3 would generally run rings around an Ezra, so puzzling that it's the Ezra it's having trouble with. Which P3 was it?
