My opinion is that you can't always trust stock cooling devices to be adequate. 100C is nuts. But does the temperature look normal when the system is idle or first starts up? For running in DOS I think you need the SNDINIT program but it's hidden inside a compressed file in the windows driver package. I have a ZIP with all the DOS files already expanded. I just don't remember what lines are supposed to be in AUTOEXEC.BAT to initialize the sound card. I'm guessing you …

GTX 650 seems like a pretty good card to me, I bet you need a faster CPU to hit 60fps in Crysis. Although I thought Crysis only went to "high" settings in XP, how did you run it on "very high" ?

Wireshark 1.2.18 runs on Windows 2000 (with ext. kernel) so I would expect it to run fine on XP as well.
