My oldest OEMs are: Philips NMS9100 (8088) Zenith (8088) Compaq Deskpro 286 IBM PS/2 30 (8088) hp Vectra RS/20 (386) Pics will be added later if the systems are not burried too deep.

I own some Disc Coprocessor Boards (DCB) made by Novell and others. These are as well simple SCSI or SASI Controllers used to attach drives to Netware servers. Boards do not even have a BIOS nor any kind of CPU, only logic chips. Other gues could be QIC-02 or QIC-36 Interface used for tape drives.

LPX is the board itself, there is no standard for the riser boards. I have seen the following riser boards in LPX boards: - plain ISA - ISA+VLB (only one VLB slot on riser) - EISA slot used for ISA and PCI - Proprietary with ISA and PCI LPX was used for 286 allready. Cases used for LPX boards are …

Not sure about the SMART 2/E, but I can confirm the SMART working in the Prosignia and due to the fact it based on the same technology it is most probably supported. Missing W9x drivers for these controllers are definitely an issue. Did not think about tis due to the fact mine are running Netware …

Wide SCSI controllers for EISA are hard to find. Best fit would be the Compaq SMART 2/E RAID Controller, while the Adaptec 2740W might be the easiest to find. As far as I know, NO eisa card will be detected automatically by Windows 2000. Maybe it will be detected when you install the operating system newly. Microsoft removed EISA support in Windows 2000. Definitely not true, I installed 2K on quite a number of EISA systems and they were fully supported. …

Problem is not the CPU running at 50 Mhz, but the VLB. This might work with some Video boards but will end up in data corruption pretty sure using an ide controller. VLB was designed for 33 MHz, 40 and 50 Mhz usually needed wait states, or on board peripherals. eisapc

Deskpro /L used the same power supply as well, just the PS-housing is different, but the PCB is the same. I successfully transplanted one to my dead systempro once, so I am sure. Prosignia 486 (aka 3080) seems to use a different more cubic PS, while Sytempro uses a stretched one. eisapc
