I didn't make maps, but I was into construction set for ES3 Morrowind. I contributed a tiny bit to the Tamriel rebuilt project, although I went through the workload threads and it seems like they redid most of my stuff, heh.

A PII 450 is about as fast as any windows 98 machine really needs to be. There is a very little performance difference between a katmai 450mhz and a PII 450mhz.

The best sound card for windows 98 IMO is the Audigy 2 ZS. You can find it no problem for 20$ and the sound quality is almost too good. Just make sure to install the VXD driver manually from device manager.
